About Limberlost

Limberlost History                                           (you can click on any image to enlarge it)
Limberlost began in 1965 with the purchase of a very beautiful all white female “Quibbletown Valkyrie” (shown left at 8 weeks with my son in 1965, and again below right as an adult female). She left her mark in the breed. She produced many U.S. and Canadian Specialty winners. Valkyrie was from two of the finest producers at Quibbletown, which was the foremost kennel in the U.S. for nearly half a century during which their dogs set continuous records for generations.

Valkyrie’s most outstanding grandson was Can. Am. Ch. Le Dauphin of Limberlost who was top dog ALL BREEDS in Canada. He was a multiple Best in Show winner and Best in Specialty Shows both in Canada and the U.S.. His father was also a Best in Show winner and top Pyrenees in the country.

This great tradition has been faithfully preserved by Limberlost, who is proud to offer outstanding line-bred puppies, following in the footsteps of their prestigious ancestors.

Goals

1. To breed beautiful, true to type, Pyrenees, with excellent conformation which provides smooth effortless movement, and showing a “certain elegance” due to their all-over balance.

2. Outstanding temperaments

3. Longevity. Many of our dogs reach the ripe old age of 10 to 14. There have been three who surpassed this, two of which reached 18 and one 17.

4. Health is also foremost, and every puppy from Limberlost is health checked thoroughly before it is sold.
